I honestly think (for me) Homeschooling is the easy way out. When your children attend an academic institution with a mix of all kinds of people you have to work harder and to curb the things that they learn "on the streets". Take the summer time to really reinforce their bible knowledge and love of God. I have seen you in action my sister and your bible studies are awesome. Just having the conviction of wanting to do better is enough. God will guide you as to how He wants you to guide and train up the children. Trust in Him and you can't fail. I'm sorry about the influencing, but if it makes you feel better, that's a part of life and how a person is able to choose to be Godly. If you keep her from certain influences now, she'll certainly face them later, but maybe without you to counterbalance the negative aspects. Still, that's not to say kids shouldn't be sheltered from things.
Sigh. It's a delicate balance, I think. I don't think you should feel guilt...Hi there!

I don't think you should feel guilty for putting yourself first... it's not selfishness to value ourselves... it is selfishness when we value ourselves to the NEGLECT of others. Sometimes when our children have to become more self-sufficient without our input, it's not a negative thing at all. They have to be able to stand on their own two feet.

Home-schooling is wonderful but children need to understand how to function with children out there in society and they need to know how to relate to people who don't think like their own parents.LISA VAZQUEZhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13583559303233985031noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7322028236219714913.post-24379478327167090702009-06-09T11:37:09.171-04:002009-06-09T11:37:09.171-04:00My friend it's not to late. The thought is very appealing but I don't know that I am that dedicated though I'm sure I would do a good job. I'm quite strict when it comes to education and I don't want to mess it up. The main reason I would want to homeschool is the negative socialization. Can I borrow your schedule??? LOL.

I understand about wanting to home school, but this is also an opportunity to teach your daughter how to judge wisely between a right influence and a wrong one. When she is older she will have to make those decisions on her own.

Train up a child in the way they should go...

I'm sure God will lead you to make the best decision.
