God nourished our city with rain today. It didn't rain all day, just a little here and there throughout the day. The cool temperature with the rain kinda discouraged me a bit, but I didn't buckle. For me, it was a good day.
This evening after mid-week Bible study, my mother-in-law needed to make a stop at Wal-Mart. My kids and I stayed in the truck and waited. It began to rain again and my oldest daughter, five-year-old, groaned. I did not inquire why she had done it because I knew.
A couple of seconds later the rain stopped. Excitedly, my daughter said, "Mommy, do you know why it stopped raining?" I told her that it was probably because God said that was enough. "Nuh-uh! It stopped raining because I asked God and Jesus to make it stop, AND HE DID!"
WOW, God had to utilize the faith of a five-year-old child to re-define faith for me.
"O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory above the heavens. From the lips of children and infants You have ordained praise because of your enemies to silence the foe and the avenger." Psalm 8:1-2 NIV
I am glad that God does not give up on reaching me. He just uses different avenues for this stubborn child of His. Thank you Father!
