...of a depart-less way

"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." Proverbs 22:6 NIV

On Saturday, 28 March, our oldest daughter participated in a Leaderette Tea. This serves as an avenue for the young ladies to practice their ministry skills in front of an audience before going to Atlanta for the Lads to Leaders Convention. She will not be attending the conventions, however, we do allow her to participate at the annual Tea.

This year, she wanted to pray and explain why it is important. Now, I will not even dare to quote what she said, but I will just highlight what she said:

**What is prayer? You're talking to God. When do you pray? Day, night and evening. Why do you pray? Because it's good and God wants to know about, ummm, the people so He can help them because we don't have any powers only God and Jesus have powers. Let us pray. Dear God, ummm, please help my friend because people are laughing at her and that's not good and I didn't laugh at her and that's good. (I forgot what else she said) In Jesus name, Amen.**

She came back to the table we were sitting at and realized that she forgot to tell how prayer has worked for and asked if she could ask the coordinator if she could go back up. I told her yes, but she was told no. "It's okay," I told her. She was upset that she'd forgotten that part because she said, "But how people gonna know God hears our prayers?" I simply told her, "They'll know."

What she wanted to share was that when we were toilet training her at night, (she only wore a pull-up at night), she prayed that God would make her stop wearing pull-ups to bed and He did.

I'm proud of her courage. She showed no signs of nervousness, "For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline." 2 Timothy 1:7 NIV. She spoke clearly and into the microphone. I'm proud of her cognitive ability to understand and express what she has been taught. I'm proud of her passion to do this. She was excited and told many people about what she'd be doing. I'm proud that she wanted to share her personal testimony that prayer works. She is God's design.
