...of it's harvest

Buried in the soil of my heart is the seed of selfishness. Seeds of rage and discontent are also planted here. For a while, things were looking pretty good above ground. No one really knows what lies beneath this dirt. I have them fooled with a precisely tilled piece of land. Each row is joined side by side, not one longer than the other. Spectators marvel at my field, predicting a plentiful harvest, (Matthew 23:25-28).

It’s harvest time, and the seeds I planted have produced trees that bear bad fruit, (Matthew 12:33-35). These fruits are contrary to the Spirit, (Galatians 5:16-21), and misrepresent what was portrayed by the field, (Matthew 23:25-28). When the fruit is tasted, it’s bitter taste is surprising.

Had I diligently sought the Lord and hid His word as the seed in my heart soil, the trees would have yielded a bountiful pleasant crop as a reward, (Hebrews 11:6 & Psalm 119:10-11). A successful heart harvesting should be cultivated by meditating on God’s word, (Joshua 1:8).

  1. Thank you for your comment on my blog about wives having to submit. I can tell you have a lot in your heart to share, and I do pray for you - that you will have an abundant harvest, a good harvest, and all the joy that comes with it as you continue your walk with our wonderful and gracious Lord Jesus. He is so very patient with our flaws though never blind to them nor content to leave them there.
