...of our kids are back & my hair

At the time of typing this, our kids have not been home 24 hours yet, and already, our house looks as if it is the end of a fun-filled week of play! Between unpacking three bags, yes three, (of course grandpa & grandma added to what we sent them there with), washing clothes from the weekend, and the kids playing with every toy they own, I’m tired! I guess they missed the toys here.

We succumbed to frozen pizza for dinner this evening. I’ll go grocery shopping tomorrow. My maternal aunt fixed what I messed up of my hair. She did have to cut it shorter in order to fix it, but oh well. My auntie told me to keep my hands out of my head since I do not know what I am doing and then she said that I need to invest in a beauty salon to help me maintain my hair.

My sisters and brother had jokes about my hair up until auntie fixed it. They said that:

1. It looks like I belong with The Beatles.
2. It looks as if I put a bowl on my head and cut around it.
3. I look like a mushroom.
4. “WHAT – WERE – YOU - THINKING?!?!?

Even my daddy was in on it, he said that he liked it and it looked good! I looked at him and said, “Daddy, you ain’t got to lie, I know it’s jacked up!” He was “insulted” that I called him a liar. I love my peeps, I really do. We had fun as usual.

Finally, I just realized that I did not change the song on my play list for my kids as I said I would, so really, for real this time, the first song is for them.

  2. Soooooo, are you going to post a picture of your new haircut or should we just imagine you looking like a mushroom forever?

  3. I would love to see a picture. My daughter finally told me to stop trimming my ends. She said I was missing them. I'm like "what!" I was cutting my ends, but in some places I cut too much of the "ends" off.
You know that mushroom cut is back in style.

  5. Welcome back Larie! I cut my own hair all the time. I've been doing it since I was in HS. I don't generally butcher it like I did in those early days but sometimes. :) LOL. Glad you got yours fixed. My aunt used to fix mine too. :)

Kids, they are SO full of life! Have fun!

  6. Regarding the kids and the house - yeah, I'm kinda the other way right now. My oldest two are at camp and my youngest and I cleaned the basement this morning. Looks great - and I'm wondering how long it will last...

Regarding the hair - Family can be so funny about that - just kinda say it like it is! I remember after my surgery, the first time my son saw me without my bandanna he said, "I was like, are you a boy???" I had to remind myself he was only five years old and knew nothing about tact.
    Yea, for auntie!!!
