“Moreover, no man knows when his hour will come: As fish are caught in a cruel net, or birds are taken in a snare, so men are trapped by evil times that fall unexpectedly upon them.” Ecclesiastes 9:12 NIV
It is true. We know nothing of what’s to come. We plan, save, or maybe even change our habits in hopes of “being prepared,” but it’s all done in ignorance. I’m sure a fish does not swim around looking for a net to avoid. It just goes about its’ business, doing what it thinks its’ supposed to do.
I just can’t wrap my mind around the truth that in spite of how smart we think ourselves to be, we really are quite ignorant.

It is not in man to direct his own steps.
ReplyDeleteWe really are ignorant. We think we know but we have no idea. Just when we think we got things figured out, there comes something or someone to prove us wrong. I've been out of town...that's why I haven't been on here.
ReplyDeleteYep, we're all just dumb sheep!
