Okay, so this is the first summer I've had to endure as a pregnant woman and man is it an experience! I can recall listening to other pregnant women or mothers who've gone through this before...maybe even more than once, and I put my foot in my mouth by thinking, "Is it really that bad?" Yes indeed it is. It seems that no matter how cool the room is where I am, it's not enough. My three older children will hint to me how cold they are and without any sympathy I tell them to put more clothes on or wrap up in a blanket, LOL.
It's funny because Summer is the season I admire the most because of its' warmer weather since I like to wear sandals and sundresses. I also like that the day seems longer since there are more hours of daylight and I usually I don't mind going out, but I have to say that I am not a fan this year; I don't even want to look out of my window!
So to the veteran summer mothers, tell me your best advice for keeping cool...

ReplyDeleteI carried my son in 1992 he was born in Sept., Even after all this time I recall the record breaking heat and a story in the Washington Post about the high rate of pregnancies in our area and how they beat the heat. One mom had a blow up kiddie pool and was in the backyard with her other kids. I also recommend freezing a bottle of half way then when you get to to get in your car fill up the other half for a cool drink :). Congrats on your pregnancy. :)
