...of defeat

What do you do when you feel defeated? Do I say I give up and just deal w/what comes next? Do I press on although I am not motivated to do so, continuing to feel like my attempts are effortless?

Please pray for my ability to press on and not give up. Pray that I remember what God has already done for me, THE MANY THINGS HE HAS DONE, and how His way always works out. Pray that I do not shun the encouragement that God will send my way.

  2. My dear sister in Christ, thank you for letting your heart speak. And for speaking honestly.
I have read through several of your posts and just wish I could reach through my computer and hug you right now. I want to sit with you and let you tell me about the MANY THINGS God has done in your life. I want to read His word with you and celebrate with you the MANY THINGS He has done throughout history. However, physical distance will keep me from fulfilling those desires.
YET, nothing can separate us from the love of Christ. And even over the miles and with the help of the internet, I can still pray with you. So, let's pray.
Father in heaven, thank You for this dear sister of mine. Thank You for allowing our paths to cross today, and for the opportunity for the two of us to apporach the throne of grace together. Thank You for the cleansing blood of Jesus which allows us to come into Your presence.
Father, right now I want to pray for my sister and ask that You will bring to her mind the MANY THINGS You have one in her life.
Remind her, Lord, of Your faithfulness.
Tell her about the times You have protected her and bring to her mind the many times You have provided for her when she didn't think there was any hope.
In the midst of relational stress, in the face of suffering, in the presence of defeat, Lord show Yourself powerful and faithful and good and loving and gracious and close, Lord, very close.
Father, I know You love this dear woman and I pray You would convince her of it today. Let her see Your love in the words and acts of encouragement You send to her every day. Lord, help her to see Your heart and to hear Your voice.
I'm asking it in the powerful Name of Jesus. Amen and amen!

Thank you, again, for your honest sharing here. And for what you've written in your profile. From one "not perfect" Christian to another - I will pray for you every time God brings you to my mind!

    Loving Jesus,
    Karen

  3. Oh, I know this feeling! All too well. Remember you aren't alone.

Your comment last week about respect has had me really thinking, and I'll be posting about it...sometime. We'll see how the rest of the post comes together (thought and time wise). Sorry about responding in a comment, but I couldn't find a way to email you.
    Blessings and prayers!
    Patty
