...of, "This Just In"

Please pardon the interruption of "When a Girl Prays for Patience: An Epoch of Depression." However, it is our congenial duty, here at "My Heart Speaks...," to keep our readers updated on our behind-the-scenes happenings.

If you are not a parent of a boy, the following image may seem "disturbing" due to the lack of understanding of one's son being referred to as being "all boy."

"Cameron", "Anton's son," spilled his yogurt on the floor. He has been taught to clean up after himself; therefore, he laid in the floor and used himself as a towel to do just that! The accused mother of "Cameron" would not comply with our request for a full interview. However, further questioning her involvement of the existence of "this child," Larie said that "Cameron" is "Anton's son."

Now back to your regularly scheduled reading...

"Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchmen stand gurad in vain. In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat-for He grants sleep to those He loves. Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from Him. LIke arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate." Psalm 127 NIV

...of "Anton's son"

Okay, this tire belongs to our daughter. However, she did not put this hole in it by skidding, "Anton's son, yes, I said "Anton's son" :), did it. I guess since he couldn't ride his bike he decided to take her bike.

Now this is the tire of "Anton's son's" bike. He wore a hole in it from skidding!

Lastly, these shoes belong to "Anton's four-years-old son." I guess as they say, "He's all boy!"

...of mistaken identity

At the time, I did not know why or how he got into the crib with his sister, but it was a cute photo opportunity. I do not know what they are looking at either, in that direction is the window but the shades were drawn.

My son has informed me that he gets in the crib with his baby sister to check on and play with her when she wakes up! How sweet, now, what I really wanted to post about...

We have three children. The youngest two are at home with me during the day. Our son, is 4 and our second is 1. Of course she favors her brother more than our oldest child since he is with her more. If he is not in the room but I say his name, she will turn as if she were looking for him. So I assumed that she knows him by name.

Until the end of the month, "First and Second-born" are with my parents. When they were here, I noticed that our youngest would say to her brother, “Dop it!” He would then reply, “I not doing anything!” This had seemed to become a game for them so I paid it no mind, until…

While Anton was holding his precious baby girl today, she was facing some portraits on the wall, one of which displayed a muddy boy. She pointed to the portrait and shouted, “Dop it!” Anton and I both laughed and simultaneously said to her that he couldn’t have done anything because he wasn’t here. Anton also joked that she was just being mean, until…

She and I were in the bathroom, where another picture of our boy is, and she pointed at his picture again, and said, “Dop it!” NO! She can't! This baby cannot possibly think that our son's name is, “Stop it!” Surely she has not mistaken my telling him to stop it during the day as his name!

LOL!

Monday

...of AND HE ATE IT!!!

“Mommy, I hungry.”

“Okay 'Cameron', gimmie a minute.

“Can I make my own dinner?" He really meant lunch.

“Uhhhhh, yeaaaah, what’cha gonna make?” I so totally did not expect him to actually do it!

“Ummmm, I wan’ peanut and jelwee sanwish.”

“Okay, Lumps, go ahead.”

"Cameron" got the stepladder to assist him in getting the bread and peanut butter. He then got the jelly from the fridge and a spoon from the drawer. Two peanut butter and jelly smeared slices later, he says, “Mommy, can I have meat wit my sanwish?”

“Yeah "Cameron", whatever.” I was folding laundry in a hurry, wanting to be done before "Janelle" woke up.

He came to me a few seconds later with the Salami and asked me, “Mommy, can you open dis pwease?” I opened it and back to the counter he went. “Mommy, I all done.”

“Okay Lumps. Go to the table and I’ll get your drink.”

“No mommy! I can do it by myself!”

“Ooooookay?” I watched him and he really did well, he even put the juice back in the fridge!!! As an ego booster, I asked "Cameron" if I could try his “yummy” sandwich. Of course he was charmed and offered me a bite. He had put the salami ON the bread WITH the peanut butter and jelly! I thought he was just asking me if he could have the “meat” as a side with his sandwich! It wasn’t nasty, but I won’t be making one of those for myself!!!

However, as you can see, he is satisfied with himself and his “peanut jelwe meat sandwish.”

Now, I have to teach him to clean up, COMPLETELY, after himself. He put the peanut butter, jelly and the spoon he used away, but forgot a couple of other things…

Do not ask me what he did with those crackers!!!

...of, "at least I tried"

"Cameron" dressed himself for Worship service a couple of weeks ago. Yes the buttons are off a little and he doesn't look put together very well, BUT, he tried. Look at the smile on his face, it reads, accomplished.

I thought about my Christian growth, how I sometimes try to do things myself and end up a little "off" and then others SEE that I am not put together very well. I too walk around with a smile of accomplishment when I do things my way, however, where I differ from "Cameron" is that my efforts were toward my way. I should have been putting my effort in doing it God's way.
1 Samuel 15 & Joshua 1:7
Note to self: Do what God says... His way!
Lastly, this post makes #45. We will be celebrating when post #50 arrives. Find out why & how in 5 more posts...

Friday

...of 3 yr. old boys

My son placed 2 remotes in this cooler. I laughed when I first saw it and thought to myself, "He's always doing something." I stopped laughing when I tried to remove the remotes. I couldn't get them out! No, I was not like the monkey! Any-who, the problem was that my hand could not get far enough inside to grasp at least one remote to slide it out. Once I "fought" with it and figured that I was only going to be able to use 2 fingers to coax the gray remote, (I had to go for this one first because it's the DVR remote!!!), I then realized that I was going to actually have to tug at it. I was really not laughing now because I began to think that it was stuck. Ya' know how some things will fit into, but don't come out. I calmed myself down when I looked down to my right and saw the wide smile of accomplishment on my son's face. I retreived the camera and well...
