Today's topic is about planning and organizing. Natalie is soliciting advice on how others get organized. Go over to her site and check out what other bloggers are advising!
Our family attempts the organizing thing by following a weekly schedule. At the top of the schedule I have Proverbs 16:2-4 as a reminder to start my day with God and ask Him to direct my day. Our family picture is my mission statement. There are some encouraging words on it about being the keeper of the home. I also have a cute poem about why God made little boys and some questions challenging me to be a good example for my daughters. "I choose to stay at home because: "No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other..." Matthew 6:24 NIV, graces the yellow sheet of paper to the left.
For our children we have a chore chart. These chores are age-appropriate based upon their capability as well. Pictures were taken of them doing their duties to help aide them in learning to read the cards. The scripture listed at the to is Proverbs 10:4. The stars have their names on them so that they can place their card in the slot after completing their chore. They do not receive payment for these chores. We have explained to them that no one should receive payment for what they are expected to do, especially when it comes to taking responsibility for yourself. However, we do give them some change for the unexpected things they do.
